Sessions at Pet Grief Companion can be rescheduled free of charge up to 2 hours before the start time. If your pet dies before a scheduled or prepaid session, a full refund is issued with no questions asked.

Is a pet death doula covered by insurance?

Pet death doula services are generally not covered by health insurance in Canada, as the role is non-medical. Some employee assistance programs (EAPs) may cover grief support services, it is worth checking with your provider. Payment is typically made directly at the time of booking.

Is my information kept private when I work with a pet death doula?

Yes. All personal information shared with Pet Grief Companion, in sessions, by email, or through the contact form, is kept strictly confidential. Personal information is never shared with third parties without explicit consent. The site complies with PIPEDA, Canada's federal privacy law.

Scope of Practice

As a certified end-of-life doula for companion animals, I provide non-medical emotional, informational, and ritual support. I am not a veterinarian and cannot offer medical advice, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or perform euthanasia or any medical procedure.

I am also not a licensed mental health professional, therapist, or counselor. My services are not a substitute for clinical therapy, psychiatric care, or treatment for mental illness. If you are experiencing severe depression, thoughts of self-harm, or an acute crisis, please seek immediate support from a qualified mental health professional or crisis line.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Grief is unpredictable. The end-of-life journey for an animal rarely follows a schedule. My policies are designed to reflect that reality.

Rescheduling: Sessions can be rescheduled at no charge up to 2 hours before the start time. Within 2 hours, please email directly and we will find a solution.
If your pet dies before a session: Full refund for any unused or prepaid sessions, no questions, no forms, no waiting period.
Membership: Cancel anytime. You will retain access through the end of the current billing period.

Any information you share, in sessions, by email, or through the contact form, is kept strictly confidential.
Personal information and session content is never shared with third parties without explicit written consent.
